Goldman Sachs has partnered with Apex Group and Archax on a blockchain-native real estate fund, with Ownera and LRC Group also involved. The fund uses Goldman’s GS DAP platform to tokenize fund shares while relying on established fund servicing, custody and governance structures.
Why it matters
The development matters because tokenization of real-world assets has become a major focus for both crypto-native companies and traditional financial institutions. Real estate, however, has been harder to distribute at scale through tokenized structures, making this launch a notable test of how blockchain-based issuance can sit alongside regulated fund operations.
Goldman Sachs has teamed up with Apex Group and digital asset exchange Archax to tokenize a real estate fund, the firms said Thursday. The project also includes infrastructure provider Ownera and real estate investment manager LRC Group, and uses Goldman Sachs’ GS DAP blockchain platform to issue tokenized fund shares.

According to the firms, the fund is intended to combine blockchain-native issuance with familiar fund structures. The stated goals include improving operational efficiency and transparency, while allowing for possible future transferability under governance and regulatory oversight.
The roles are divided across the participating firms. LRC Group acts as the fund manager, Archax serves as custodian for the regulated digital securities and as the first distribution partner, while Ownera provides connectivity between participants and distribution channels.
Apex Group is providing Alternative Investment Fund Manager services through Fundrock LIS, along with fund administration and depositary services for assets other than financial instruments through Apex Fund Services Luxembourg. Goldman Sachs’ global head of digital assets, Mathew McDermott, said issuing blockchain-native fund units on GS DAP supports more precise real estate investment and could enable more seamless transferability in the future.
