ESMA has expanded its Markets in Crypto-Assets register in its fourth update since the authorization deadline, adding 12 companies to the list of approved crypto-asset service providers. The latest update brings the total number of authorized CASPs under MiCA to 321.
The update matters because MiCA is now a central regulatory framework for crypto companies operating in the European Union. A growing register gives users, firms and counterparties a clearer reference point for which providers have authorization under the regime.
Alongside the additions to the authorized list, ESMA also added three entities to its non-compliant register. That separate list is intended to identify firms that do not meet the requirements reflected in the MiCA framework.
For crypto companies, the expanding register highlights the continuing shift from fragmented national oversight toward a more standardized EU compliance environment. For readers, it offers a practical signal of how quickly firms are moving through the post-deadline authorization process.
The latest figures show that MiCA implementation remains active after the deadline, with both authorized providers and non-compliant entities continuing to be recorded through ESMA’s updates.
